Professional Experience:

Continuing involvement in nonprofit scientific research organizations and other nonprofit groups. Board member, Center for Management Systems, Inc., a nonprofit private foundation for applied research in scientific areas.

Twelve years former college teaching experience in a variety of business, finance and accounting courses including planning and control, productivity for business, accounting information systems, investments, and organizational behavior. BS summa cum laude, MBA, CPA.

Introduction of computers to accounting and business students in spreadsheet applications, strategic decision making, computer simulations, and cost control.  Former reviewer for accounting textbook manuscripts and computerized accounting manuscripts, BPI Publications, Inc., and West Publishing Company while assistant professor of accounting at Canisius College, Buffalo, NY.  

Former lecturer for continuing professional education courses by the Foundation for Accounting Education, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Past private practice as certified public accountant involving installation and operation of accounting systems and development of business plans. Early accounting work as senior accountant in public accounting with responsibilities for client consultation and demonstration of accounting software and advancing the firm in microcomputer applications along with audit duties. Ph.D. studies in accounting, finance and economics (withdrew to pursue other activities).

Consultant to the National Center for Productivity and Quality of Working Life, Washington, D.C., 1977-1978, to develop an instructional course in Productivity for Business.

Relevant Sports Background:

Competitive sports: triathlons, running, cycling, cross-country skiing.

Completed over 35 triathlons, including Hawaii Ironman, 1994; 150 road races including 12 marathons and track competition; road and mountain bike races with the Aspen Cycling Club, classic and skate cross-country skiing including 30K Owl Creek Chase, Aspen, Colorado.

Recreational sports: swimming, tennis, alpine/nordic skiing.

Community activities: former officer and board member of Aspen Cycling Club, Inc., Blind Outdoor Leisure Development, Inc., former financial advisor for USA Track and Field Niagara Association.

Affiliations: American College of Sports Medicine, USA Triathlon, USA Track & Field, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (currently inactive)
